The dark mode has become one of the customization options most popular with users because it makes reading the screen, reduces eyestrain, and helps reduce battery consumption. That is why thousands of platforms already offer native support for this function.
One of them is Google Maps, which allows you to change the theme of the interface from its mobile application for iOS and Android devices. When activated, the navigation map and much of the platform elements take on dark gray, black, and blue tones.
How to activate the dark mode of Google Maps?
Next, we detail the steps to enable this feature easily on your cell phone or tablet:
From Android devices:
- Access the Google Maps application from a device with Android 10 onwards
- Tap on your profile icon located at the top right of the screen
- Go to the configuration section
- Click on theme and select one of the following options: always show in light theme, always show in dark theme, and use the same theme as the device
- Hit the save button.
From iOS devices:
- Open the Google Maps application from your iPhone or iPad
- Tap on your profile icon located at the top right of the screen
- Go to the configuration section
- Click dark mode and select one of the following options: on, off, and use the same device settings.
