Along with the news of iOS 16, Apple has announced a major update for CarPlay, its interface for the car. The new version comes with a completely new interface capable of being fully integrated into the vehicle, including those screens that are, for example, behind the steering wheel, new widgets, and more functions that will considerably improve the driving experience for those users with a compatible vehicle.
One of the novelties of CarPlay is the possibility of integrating the main controls of the vehicle, such as the control for the air conditioning or the speedometer, in the interface itself, so that the driver can select, for example, if he wants to activate the air conditioning in the rear area of the car, from the vehicle screen.
Apple also allows you to customize the design of the command center located in the steering wheel area and adds the ability to activate some widgets that can help improve driving, such as a map, weather, or information relevant to the vehicle, such as the fuel level.

The new version of CarPlay, yes, will not be available for all vehicles. Full integration with the car’s controls will begin to reach those new models that are announced at the end of 2023, as confirmed by the company.
The new Apple CarPlay will arrive with iOS 16
The redesigned Apple CarPlay interface and all the improvements previously announced will arrive together with iOS 16, the new version of the iPhone operating system that will include different new features.
