Brazil overcomes Venezuela, remains unbeaten, and is a more powerful leader than ever.

Venezuela, against all odds and precedents, took the field with a revitalised, motivated, and attacking team, putting their opponents on the ropes, who seemed to believe more in their history of victories – they have never been defeated in an official match for the Vinotinto- than in the game that was being played.

As a result of the initial impulse, Yeferson Soteldo remained unnoticed on the right wing when he received a filtered pass and quickly launched a remote-controlled centre to the heart of the area.

There, Eric Ramrez, who was considerably faster than the defenders, finished with a header that blasted the ball into the back of the net, well away from goalie Alisson.

This is Ramrez’s first goal with his new team.

The goal did not cause the local squad to lock up defensively, and they continued to play Brazil as equals, keeping the ball at their feet and intimidating their opponents as they approached the goal.

Venezuela moved up on the scoreboard thanks to that good game and a single good Brazilian chance that Everton Ribeiro crashed against the post.

The game kept a similar dynamic after passing through the changing rooms, but in the 56th minute, Brazil demonstrated its superiority with a header from a set piece from Thiago Silva, which was nullified for offside.
That was a foreshadowing of Brazil’s potential, which tied the game in the 70th minute after a corner kick in which Marquinhos won the position of the entire local defence and leaped very high to head and score.

When Gabriel Barbosa was knocked down in the heart of the area and the referee signalled a penalty, it appeared like each team would collect a point, a well-deserved outcome on the pitch.
Barbosa himself scored in the 84th minute to make the score 1-2.

In the discount, Antony, who had just joined the field, got a pass from Raphinha to score the final 1-3, which looked disproportionate retribution for the duel.

Thus, Brazil secured its ninth victory in nine South American qualifications, while Venezuela remained last with four points from a win and a tie.
