Trump said his wife had represented the US in Africa “like nobody has done before”
It ended the first tour of Melania Trump alone for Africa and the balance is positive.
The first lady visited Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt on a weeklong tour that sought in a way to clean up the disaster that her husband committed earlier this year when he called the African countries, “fucking countries.”
However, for President Donald Trump, his wife’s tour was something of another world, or so the president said.
Taking out his chest and full of pride without mentioning the concrete results of Melania’s visit to Africa, the president gave his verdict.
“The First Lady did a tremendous job representing our country in Africa, as no one has done before,” he told reporters in a statement.
“She knew the people of Africa first hand and they loved her and respected her wherever she went,” she continued. “Melania told me about her trip in great detail and I am very proud of the work she is doing on behalf of the children everywhere. She works very hard and does it out of love. ”
We must remember that this is not the first time that a First Lady visits the African continent. Laura Bush traveled to Africa to promote health in the continent, which was a constant of her mandate, especially in her husband’s second term, when he made seven trips to African countries.
For her part Michelle Obama visited Africa twice without her husband, in 2011 she did it to South Africa and Botswana, and in 2016 to Morocco and Liberia, bringing her daughters for both trips. Previously Hillary Clinton also made two trips accompanied by her teenage daughter with stops in Senegal, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Uganda, Eritrea, Morocco and Tunisia.
Again it is evident that President Donald Trump is unaware of the presidential history of his predecessors.
