Groot Animated Series Coming to Disney+ Sooner Than You Think

One of the most endearing characters from Guardians of the Galaxy will have his series on Disney + and there are just over two months left for its premiere. The platform and Marvel have announced that I am Groot will be released on August 10. What we know so far is that it will be a series of shorts, but no further details have been given about the plot on which the production will focus.

Through social networks, Disney and Marvel announced the release date with a publication in which we see Baby Groot with sunglasses and headphones, leaning on a Star-Lord Walkman. Two penguins with four eyes also appear. We haven’t seen these characters in any of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but we can tell they’ll play a major role in the series.

Vin Diesel will voice Groot again, but beyond that, we don’t know if any other Guardians of the Galaxy characters will appear in the production. This is the first original spin-off of the saga, but it seems that it will not be the last of Disney +. In December, the platform will broadcast a Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special as a prelude to the premiere of the third part, which is expected in 2023.

James Gunn has recently commented that the end of the installment will be much darker than the last two films and that it will be the definitive adventure for Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill or Starlord, Zoe Saldaña’s Gamora ( Avatar ), and Dave Bautista’s Drax.

Groot’s first solo project will arrive on Disney+ on August 10, as part of Marvel’s commitment to creating content for its characters. This will be one of the last releases within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which will return to the big screen with the premiere of Thor: Love and Thunder on July 8, 2022.
