Before the release of his new movie Firestarter, the 34-year-old actor finally opened up about his thoughts on returning to the dance halls of East High.
Zac Efron left fans in shock when he revealed that he is very open to the possibility of returning to Disney’s “High School Musical” franchise for a reboot, should one be made.
In an interview with E! News on Tuesday (May 10), three days before the release of his new movie Firestarter, the 34-year-old actor finally opened up about his thoughts on returning to the dance halls of East High.
When asked during an interview with E! News if he would be interested, the 34-year-old said “of course.”
“I mean to have the opportunity to go back and work with that team would be amazing,” the “Firestarter” actor said. “My heart is still there.”
The television movie “High School Musical” first aired on the Disney Channel in 2006 and was followed by a sequel in 2007. A third film, “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”, opened in theaters in 2008.
And while Efron once hinted that he resented his involvement in the now-iconic, millennial-loved films, he told Men’s Journal that they were “not at all what I want to do” and that he still wishes he could turn back time. back to his HSM “kick his ass” days, it seems he’s officially had a change of heart.
“That would be amazing,” he added. “I hope it happens.”
