It has not been an easy time at home for Bruce Willis and Emma Heming. Just a few weeks ago, the couple, hand in hand with Willis’s ex-wife, Demi Moore, and the actor’s three eldest daughters, announced that the protagonist of Die Hard had been diagnosed with aphasia, so he has decided to retire from acting. Since then, the women in Bruce’s life have closed ranks, it is not strange that they publish an image with him on their social networks as a show of support or that they write a comment to each other on their profiles, showing the close relationship they maintain. Now, sometime after this news, Emma has given an interview in which she has talked about her business and her life as a mother, revealing the difficulties she has faced as a family and how she has decided to respond to them.
“I struggle with making time to take care of myself every day. I put my family’s needs above my own, which I find doesn’t make me any kind of hero. That kind of care by everyone in my home had taken a toll on my mental health and my overall health, and it didn’t serve anyone in my family. Someone told me not long ago that when you take more care of someone, you end up taking less care of yourself. That made me pause and it resonated with me. I don’t take perfect care of myself, but I know that some basic needs are essential, like, first and foremost, exercise. It’s a time when I can unplug and do something that I know makes me feel good overall. I think it’s important to find one thing that makes you feel good and build from there,” he told The Bump.

Emma, 43, is the current wife of Bruce, 67, and the mother of their youngest daughters – 10 and 8 years old. The couple married in 2009, two years after they began their relationship. They met in 2007, but were seen in public until January 2008, when they appeared together on What Just Happened? at the Sundance Festival. Two months later, the lovers were seen with one of the actor’s three eldest daughters, as well as with Demi Moore, showing that things were serious and the bond that was formed between the actor’s wife and the protagonist of Ghost would remain until now.
The message of the women in Willis’s life
The closeness that was shown between Bruce and his ex-wife during the quarantine, which they spent together and which Emma later joined with their two daughters, has remained one of the most complicated episodes in the actor’s life. Demonstrating the unity that exists between the family, a little over a month and a half ago, in a joint message, Demi, her three daughters, Emma, and her two daughters, signed an important message.
“To Bruce’s amazing fans, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and was recently diagnosed with aphasia, which is affecting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is retiring from the career that has meant so much to him. These are very challenging times for our family and we are so appreciative of his continued love, compassion, and support. We’re going to go into this as a strong family unit and we wanted to include his fans, because we know how much he means to you, as much as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live in the moment’ and together we plan to do just that. With love”.
