Actor Jensen Ackles recently joined the cast as Soldier Boy and is starring in the third season of The Boys; and he already knows that what is coming in this new installment of the series will be crazy, so much so that he had to back down when they suggested doing a scene that was a bit strong but very interesting and that in the end, it was too much for him.
The boys: the spin off of the series forbidden for children under 17 years arrives
The previous two seasons of The Boys have been some of the best and it is positioned as one of the television shows that will sweep the audience away. Not only because of the plot it raises but because it breaks with the stereotypes of the classic superhero shows that we are used to, where they always save the world from the bad guys with a perfect smile in the original Amazon Prime Video series.
The show focuses on regular people trying to take down the corrupt superhero industry. It stars Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, and also Karl Urban as Billy Butcher along with a gang of talented stars, who dared to participate in this atypical series of heroes who do not save the day or are beacons of hope.
“The Boys”: Amazon Releases Trailer and Release Date for Season Three
When it was announced that Jensen Ackles was going to join the cast of The Boys as Solider Boy, it was huge news that fans cheered and have been patiently waiting to see the character engage with this character who is deeply flawed and as the showrunners have explained :
“Originally part of an experiment to test Compound V during World War II, much like his Marvel counterpart Captain America, Soldier Boy eventually comes to the present. Once he’s resurrected in the 21st century, his various flaws are revealed. become immediately apparent, and Billy, Hughie and the rest of the team will have to decide whether or not to trust this unpredictable Super.”
What is known about Soldier Boy is that his old-fashioned ideals are deeply ingrained and worldviews will be in play during the season, which will add a bit of chaos to the plot that gradually gets even crazier to satisfy fans who expected a little more chaos and extreme situations for the protagonists.
“We definitely have more permission to go crazy. I feel like every season we reset what the ceiling is and somehow we get over it. I don’t know how we can keep raising the bar for messy stuff, but Eric keeps finding it somehow,” she said. Jack Quaid.
Indeed, the person responsible for things reaching extreme points in The Boys, is the creator and producer, Eric Kripke who has dared to up the ante, ” If you asked the executives of Amazon, they would deny it, but I feel that the ‘Herogasm’ episode was almost like a reward for two seasons of a hit show .” However, Upping the ante is a great idea in theory, but there are limits to everything and in one scene, in particular, it was too much for Jensen Ackles.
“The Boys” will have an animated spin-off inspired by Animatrix and is titled “Diabolical”
“As a father of three, a son, a husband, and a self-respecting human being, I can’t do this. I didn’t know where my line was, but you found it,” Ackles told Eric Kripke. Kripke himself noted that “We came to a compromise where I got what I needed without him destroying his soul.” It’s not often that an actor refuses to film a scene, but clearly, this was too much of a hassle for Ackles.
