Fans of the series ‘ Peacemaker ‘ were surprised by the cameo of some members of the ‘ Justice League ‘ in the last episode of the first season.
When Christopher Smith ( John Cena ) and his team manage to defeat the alien butterflies, they run into Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and The Flash, who appear in silhouette at first.
Unfortunately, Batman and Cyborg were absent from the scene.
And only Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Ezra Miller (Flash) had dialogue… Superman and Wonder Woman had their faces covered by the shadows of the night.
In an interview with Variety , Gunn was asked if Herny Cavill and Gald Gadot , who played the heroes, were invited to the series.
However, the filmmaker admitted no.
No. I really don’t think so. In fact, I was only thinking about Jason, but the Flash also had his moment because I found out that Ezra was very interested in doing that.”
As for the reason for the absence of Batman and Cyborg, the filmmaker was a mystery:
You know, I don’t know what to say. There are reasons for this, but I’m really unsure if I can say what those reasons are. It might have to do with things to come.”
And, despite being quick, the scene was remarkable enough to drive fans wild.
On social media, users are posting messages of enthusiasm with the team’s presence, proving that the characters are still very much loved, even after the fiasco of the film released in 2017.
Furthermore, the presence of Superman has given rise to hope that we will see Henry Cavill reprise the role at some point.
Remembering that HBO MAX has confirmed the second season of ‘ Peacemaker ‘, with the return of James Gunn as writer and director.
Sarah Aubrey , head of original content at HBO Max , said:
“ James Gunn ‘s brilliance once again shines with Peacemaker . He’s taken this character, brought to life by the inimitable John Cena , and created an exceptional series that is simultaneously heartwarming, hilarious and heartfelt, showcasing the humanity beneath this team of misfits living in a superhuman world. As the first DC original series to premiere on HBO Max, we are thrilled that viewers have agreed to give it a go for more,” he stated.
On Rotten Tomatoes , the book opened with a 92% approval rating , with a rating of 7.10/10 based on 12 reviews so far. International pundits praised the show’s parodic tone and the cast’s performance, although they pointed out some flaws.
