Rowan Atkinson, who is best known for his role as Mr. Bean, has spoken out in defense of comedians, claiming that “the objective of comedy is to upset people,” while also decrying “cancel culture.”

The newspaper “The Independent” asserts that the star of “Johnny English” did his part to support comedic artists and cultural institutions.

He made the statement that comedians should be permitted to make jokes about anything and anything.

Rowan Atkinson proceeded by saying, “It seemed to me that the goal of comedy is to offend, or at least have the capacity to offend, and you can’t drain that possibility out of it.”

He continued by explaining, “Every practical joke has a target.

That perfectly exemplifies the meaning of the term “joke.”

Someone, something, or an idea is made to seem foolish as a result of it.”

Rowan Atkinson  made the following observation: “I believe you need to be extremely selective about what you can make jokes about.”

“There are many persons at what would be called the lowest in society who are incredibly egotistical and self-satisfied, and they too ought to be stopped.

You should be allowed to make jokes about anything and anything in a well-functioning free society “he continued.

What do you think?
