Even for Kim Kardashian, this is… a lot. A day after she denied having her belly button touched up in a Skims ad, the reality star explains why she did have another photo touched up. And honestly, I’m speechless.
In December, Kim Kardashian posted photos of her daughter Chicago West and her niece True Thompson having fun at Disneyland, and TikTokers were quick to point out the fact that there was something off about True in the photos. Her face did not look like the rest of the photo, they insisted. Furthermore, they deduced, through tracking the outfits, that it was actually Kylie’s daughter, Stormi Webster, in the happiest place on earth, and not True.

But the family kept quiet about it until mid-April when True’s mom Khloé was caught in a lie about taking True to Disneyland for the ‘first time.’ Despite the edited photos being posted on Kim’s account, Khloe took the hit, writing on Twitter: ‘Welllppp I fucked this one up.’ But without offering any reason for the seemingly random exchange.
Two weeks later, Kim offered an explanation, and I’m sorry but this is so weird. In a series of Instagram Stories, Kardashian first put to rest the rumor that she had adjusted boyfriend Pete Davidson’s jaw (she didn’t), and then recounted how and why she traded one niece for another, admitting she needed ‘a serious explanation. ‘.
‘You know I’m all aesthetic! And my IG grid is pink and blue lately. It’s not that cute and well planned,’ she wrote.
‘The original photos were of Stormi! However, I asked [Kylie] if she could post them and she told me that she doesn’t feel like posting right now, so I respect that! But it wasn’t going to mess up my IG feed. Chi was dressed in pink and it matched perfectly,’ he continued, offering no context as to why skipping a post would ‘mess up’ her feed, why she couldn’t just crop the photo to be just from Chicago, whether or not Khloe was ‘feeling the publication’, or if he considered dubious Photoshop to be a blight on his precious network.
In the following post, he thanked True, who is four years old, for ‘taking one for the team’. He also said that he could ‘take on’ his aesthetic, which is incredibly brave and really speaks to his strength of character. Kim Kardashian: a paragon of honesty.
