“JOKER: FOLIE x DEUX” Director Todd Phillips Debuts Lady Gaga Image

The filmmaker shared a first look at the role played by the singer in the Joker sequel on Valentine’s Day. She co-stars with Joaquin Phoenix, who plays Arthur Fleck.

The director shared the first shot of the role played by Lady Gaga in his upcoming film Joker: Folie à deux on Instagram on Tuesday. In this photo, the singer and actress is dressed as Harley Quinn, who is similar to the Joker and was originally seen in Batman:

The Animated Series in the early 1990s, and she is confronted by Joaquin Phoenix, who is dressed as Arthur Fleck. While the official plot of this highly anticipated sequel has yet to be disclosed, the title provides a first taste of the picture.

Folie à deux is a medical phrase that describes a mental condition that affects two or more people, usually members of the same family.

According to the initial information, the format of the second part of the Joker will be considerably different from the first, since it will be a musical. Todd Phillips produced A Star Is Born in 2018, in which the singer made her film debut as a headliner, thus the inclusion of Lady Gaga in the ensemble is not a foregone conclusion.

Two years later, the pop sensation offered herself a fresh on-screen role in House Of Gucci alongside Adam Driver in 2021. It was also rumored in September 2020 that it would be the new Queen Blanche (aka Emma Frost) from the X-Men storyline. However, the information has not been verified.

Joker: Two-Film Madness will also include Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, Brendan Gleeson, and Catherine Keener, in addition to Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. This sequel is set to hit theaters in the United States on October 4, 2024.

Huge triumph in 2019, the first installment of Joker, directed by Todd Phillips (Very Bad Trip), garnered approximately 1.07 billion dollars at the global box office before winning two Oscars (for 11 nominations): best actor for Joaquin Phoenix and best music for Hildur Gunadóttir.
