Carmen Electra’s opinion on Kim Kardashian’s bold ’90s revival: She looked beautiful

I still have this dress I wore to the MTV movie awards in the 1990s, Electra said on Instagram while sharing photos of herself wearing it as opposed to Kardashian wearing it lately.

The interesting thing about fashion is the potential for revival, or for an outfit to make a reappearance years after it was originally worn, maybe with a few current updates.

Kim Kardashian just accomplished this feat when she wore the classic Marilyn Monroe gown—which the actress had worn when singing “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” on US president John F. Kennedy’s birthday in 1962—on the Met Gala red carpet in 2022.

Actor Carmen Electra recently lauded the creator of SKIMS after she wore one of her “daunting” 1990s outfits.

In an interview with Us Weekly, the Baywatch actor revealed that Kardashian looked “beautiful” in the gown, images of which she shared on Instagram in April of this year.

The dress is entirely backless, has a bustier bodice taped to the back, and is white.

Electra shared photos of herself wearing the outfit on Instagram with the sentimental statement, “I still have this dress I wore to the MTV movie awards in the 1990s. Kim Kardashian just wore it.

This expensive dress was rebuilt by @kimkardashian, and I believe it’s flattering rather than a failure!

I find it to be cool.
