Abortion is a human right, says Becky G, and males should learn more about it

Becky G spoke out against the repeal of the right to abortion that recently occurred in the United States, the country where she is a citizen. The singer considers that this measure not only calls into question something that she considers a human right but also tries to distract attention from the delicate situation in her country. The interpreter of “Mayores” made a call to her audience, especially men, whom she asked to educate herself on the subject and join the struggle that women have faced for years to decide on their bodies without having to be criminalized.

“I would say to all men that if you have daughters if you have wives if you know someone who (is affected) with these laws that exist, that is changing and not so much towards empowering women, you should also educate yourself and learn how can we work together because it is a human rights issue?  Becky G is in Mexico promoting her new album “Esquemas”, in which she collaborates with artists such as Anitta and Tini Stoessel, women who are gaining ground in the genre and who seek to empower their gender through music. Becky G, who has Latin roots through her grandparents, also said she is interested in writing lyrics with social messages that contribute to positive change.

“I would say to all women that in any way you want to express your message you can achieve it, for me it is with my music, but also outside of my music, that is how your value goes in your voice, singing songs is fun, but I have much more to say.”  Also; Becky G spoke out against the racism that exists in her country of origin toward Latino people since she affirms that during her life she has felt rejected for not being American, but also by Mexicans who consider her a foreigner.

“Especially in the networks it is something that happens with artists because we have so many followers that people think they can say anything and it affects me a lot because I am not a superhero, there is power in our words and it is a responsibility,” he said.  “I feel very blessed for everything I have, but it is nothing that my daddy or my grandparents gave me, I and my family sacrificed a lot and I worked a lot. Knowing that I deserve to be here in this reality is something very difficult when people are saying ‘you’re only Latina when it suits you,'” Becky G concluded.
