avengers 4: Endgame: Why is Hawkeye now Ronin?

In the trailer “Avengers 4: Endgame” confirmed the rumor about the character played by Jeremy Renner.

Several months ago it was speculated that the actor Jeremy Renner would return to the Avengers 4, but after the premiere of the trailer “Avengers 4: Endgame”, a couple of days ago, Marvel confirmed it. The interpreter stopped being Hawkeye (Hawkeye) to assume the role of Ronin, the second alter ego that Clint Barton used in comics.

An image of the actor was also filtered on the recording set in a different outfit from the previous Marvel Studios films, in which he had worn a purple suit with black and used arrows with a bow as a weapon. After the release of the trailer it is finally confirmed that Hawkeye becomes Ronin.

“We have lost friends, also family … and a part of us,” Steve Rogers is heard to say that the Hawkeye scene appears after the disappearance of his family with the snap of Thanos adopting the bloody form of Ronin.

Who is Ronin? This identity has been adopted in comics by various characters, with Hawkeye being the second of them. Ronin is a Japanese term used to refer to a samurai without a master, that is, a solitary warrior.

Hawkeye’s first appearance was a cameo in Thor, 2011. Later, he had a bigger role in The Avengers, 2012, Avengers: Age of Ultron, 2015, and Captain America: Civil War, 2016, where he was last seen when Captain America (Chris Evans) rescues him from The Raft prison.

His absence in Avengers: Infinity War, 2018, was one of the great unknowns. What is indicated is that he was serving his sentence under house arrest after breaking the Sokovia Accords in Civil War, as did Scott Lang (Ant-Man).
