Amber Heard took photos of Johnny Deep unconscious from alcohol and drugs

Johnny Depp surrounded himself with an entourage of enablers who protected him from the consequences of his drug and alcohol use, his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, testified Thursday.

Heard returned to testify to defend herself against her ex-husband’s defamation accusations.

Depp sued Heard over an op-ed she wrote and published in the Washington Post in which she described herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” The actor’s lawyers say the 2018 article defamed him even though she never mentioned her name.

Heard told the jury about photos he took of Johnny Depp in 2013 in which he was passed out. He said that he started photographing him because he couldn’t remember what he had done when he was drunk and denied that it had happened while he was unconscious.

“He wouldn’t remember it, or he would deny it. There was no one to support me,” Heard said.

The actress has stated that Depp physically and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, usually when he was drunk or high on drugs. Depp has denied ever hitting her, but Heard’s lawyers have said her denials lack credibility in part because she can’t remember what she’s done to her when she passes out.

Depp has said that Heard exaggerates a lot about his drinking and that he tolerates liquor well. Friends, family, and employees of Depp have testified and backed up his claim.

But Heard said that’s part of the problem. He said that Depp has a team around him that cleans him up when he gets sick and allows him to go about his business without acknowledging the consequences of his drinking.

Heard is expected to testify all day Thursday in Fairfax County Circuit Court.
