During a virtual event, Xiaomi presented a friendly robot dog, which it christened CyberDog , which can be controlled by voice (like a smart speaker) and is capable of recognizing its owner’s face.

According to Andro4all, a specialized technology portal, this robotic dog created by the Chinese company can reach a maximum speed of 3.2 meters per second and is capable of carrying up to three kilos of weight.

Its main components include an NVIDIA Jetson Xavier system, an Intel RealSense D450 module, a 128 GB storage SSD, 11 high-precision sensors to guide its movements and a GPS.

The CyberDog of Xiaomi also has a camera for facial recognition, ie can identify the face of his own to follow him wherever he directs; this will avoid obstacles on the way thanks to its motion sensors.

Not only can you control the robot dog by giving it an order with your voice, as if it were Alexa , Siri or other virtual assistants, you can also manipulate it through an application that you install on your smartphone.

What is its price?

According to the Chinese company, they will only manufacture 1,000 units of CyberDog that will be available to engineers, developers or any robotics lover who dares to pay 9,999 yuan, which would be about US $ 1,500.

It is worth noting that the robot presented by Xiaomi is not the first of its kind. Some time ago, the technology company Boston Dynamics produced one called Spot that has a fairly similar design.
