What do the letters G, E, H, H+, 3G, 4G and 5G mean that appear on the screen of your Android mobile or iPhone?

Many were surprised to learn the meaning of 4G H, H + and E, letters that are displayed on the screen of your smartphone. Find out in the following note.

It is normal that when we want to know the quality of the signal of our Android smartphone or iPhone, we verify the level of the bars that are at the top of the mobile. However, these are always accompanied by letter and number symbols on the screen, but most users do not know what these acronyms indicate. Do you want to know? Here we explain it to you.

The most common symbols that appear on our Android mobile or iPhone are 3G, H, H +, 4G, G, E, and 5G. These are important and indicate the data network to which you are connected and the speed at which you browse. Some of them consume more battery; others allow fairly fast data transfers. Here’s what each one means:

  • G: the worst thing you can see on your mobile. The letter G accompanying your coverage means that you are going to navigate at the lowest possible speed.
  • E: it is the Edge network that has a speed of 348 Kbps. Both the E and the G usually appear on the smartphone in cases of very low coverage when we are in a basement or in an elevator.
  • 3G: a connection that is already part of the past. The first is capable of supporting video calls with our mobiles. Its average data upload and download speed are between 2 and 8 Mbps, respectively.
  • H: The mobile receives the HSPA connection and is capable of reaching download speeds of 14.4 Mbps, enough to access social networks.
  • H +: HSDPA Plus connection, the fastest data network before the adoption of 4G, with a download speed of around 21 Mbps.
  • 4G: this letter indicates that the mobile receives the LTE connection, which is the network that reaches 100 Mbps of download and 50 Mbps of upload.
  • 5G: it is still in full deployment in Peru and around the world, it is the evolution of the LTE network. The 5G network offers faster speeds than 4G, around 1 Gbps of download, and 300 Mbps of upload.
  • 6G: It is the network of the future that could deliver speeds of 1 TB per second or 8,000 gigabits per second.

How to turn your smartphone into a metal detector? Here we show you

Android users took a great surprise, after discovering that most smartphones that work with the operating system developed by Google have an option that allows them to detect metals, however, it is disabled.
