TikTok launches SoundOn, its new platform that will distribute music for free

If we talk about entertainment, TikTok quickly comes to mind. It is not new that this application has permeated society and has become one of the most versatile for people of all ages. That is why the Chinese company ByteDance has created its own music platform called SoundOn, where it will give the opportunity to musicians looking to start their career through the acclaimed application.

SoundOn is a platform that works similar to a record company. People who want to make their music known will have the option to use this platform for free and will retain all copyrights in their own content.

As if that were not enough, this platform could even serve as a springboard for streaming music services such as Apple Music or Spotify to introduce new artists.

From SoundOn they will not only focus on the distribution of musical content, but they will also provide marketing tools for musicians. Like TikTok, this space offers artists a set of statistics about the audience that their songs can have. It will also employ TikTok content creators to spread the artist’s songs through the social network.

Finally, this new Chinese invention will allow artists to obtain 100% of the income produced with their songs within CapCur or Russo. With respect to Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, Deezer or JOOX, the musician will only receive 100% of the income during the first year. From the second year, SoundOn will keep 10% of the royalties.
