Instagram: so you can deactivate your account from your smartphone or computer

Do you want to close your Instagram account, but without this resulting in something permanent? How to temporarily deactivate an Instagram account?

These are all the steps you must follow to disable your Instagram account depending on the device you use:

From a computer:

1. Access the Instagram website from a Windows or Mac computer
2. Tap your profile picture from the top right of the screen
3. Click on the profile section
4. Click on the edit profile button that appears next to your username
5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the option to temporarily disable my account
6. In the question why do you want to disable your account? , choose a reason from the drop-down menu
7. Enter your password to access the last step
8. Press the temporarily disable account button.

From a smartphone:

1. Open Instagram from the web browser of your Android or iOS device
2. Touch your profile picture located at the top right of the screen
3. Go to the profile section
4. Click on the edit profile button that is displayed next to your username
5. Go to the bottom of the page and click the option to temporarily disable my account
6. Select the reason for your decision in the section why do you want to disable your account?
7. Re-enter your password
8. Press the temporarily disable account button.
