More than two decades ago emails came into our lives. This useful tool is widely used by companies and individuals to be able to contact others quickly and safely.
In addition, email is essential when sending files of any kind, something that makes its use much more attractive.
Microsoft was the first to launch email, initially called Hotmail, but over the years it changed to what is now known as Outlook.
Many wonder what the difference is between both emails and this time we mention them to you.
Difference between Hotmail and Outlook
Hotmail was replaced by Outlook between 2021 and 2013. The transition consisted of offering the second one that we know today, giving space to new secure storage space.
The most important difference between Hotmail and Outlook is that the latter currently works as the name of the web domain, while the former is the name of the server that is owned by Microsoft.
That is, when you enter Hotmail.com, you will automatically be redirected to Outlook.live and the page to invite a session or to create a new email is displayed.
There you can create up to three different email addresses that are outlook.es, outlook.com and hotmail.com.
Therefore, the differences are not many, except for a small “rebranding” that Microsoft decided to give to its email platform.
