Raducanu Grateful For ‘Role Model’ Harry Kane Before Australian Open

In her pursuit of furthering her tennis career at the Australian Open, Emma Raducanu has had the backing of England’s captain, Harry Kane.

The 20-year-old is optimistic heading into 2023 and appears to have recovered from an ankle issue in time for Monday’s first-round match against Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch.
After capturing the 2021 US Open, Raducanu found herself the center of attention throughout the world. The British No. 1 has since disclosed that she has sought counsel from a number of athletes, including Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Raducanu, who was spotted practicing in a Tottenham shirt last year, added, “I think to be able to speak to him is incredibly fantastic,” in reference to Harry Kane. We haven’t had a lot of conversations, but he’s obviously a great player, and that’s fairly neat. It is quite astonishing that a man of his accomplishments can be so modest. He has my utmost regard. Talking to other athletes is awesome. We can all relate to each other’s thoughts and feelings, which is a positive thing. “They’re not just great at what they do, but they’re also simply extremely cool people,”

After receiving her MBE at Windsor Castle while dressed in Dior, Raducanu said she felt like the Disney character Hannah Montana, a teenage girl who leads a hidden double life as a pop singer, as she drove to her training session in the rear of her car.
In the offseason, as Raducanu was getting ready to play in Australia, he was invited to the World Cup final in Doha, where he got to see Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. When an athlete watches it, they can “probably have a little amount of empathy” for the players since they can relate to the emotions and thoughts they must be experiencing themselves.

Under those conditions, your admiration for what they’re capable of grows exponentially. Then there’s the twinge of jealousy, “Oh, I wish I was playing a tennis match on this scale with all this support.”

Insane crowd noise filled the stadium. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever heard before.
