Russia Ukraine War: Volodymyr Zelenskyy has survived three assassination attempts in the last week

According to The Times Network Group, mercenaries from the Kremlin-backed Wagner Group and Chechen special forces attempted to assassinate Ukraine’s president in the last week, but all three efforts failed.

According to sources, the murder attempts failed as a result of anti-war subversives within Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), the country’s successor to the KGB, alerting Ukrainian officials.

Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Minister revealed the three foiled assassination attempts.

He told local reporters that he obtained the information from double agents “who are averse to participating in this brutal battle.”

According to reports, news of one of the assassination plots prompted Kyiv to implement a 36-hour curfew last weekend to allow the military to comb the streets for Russian saboteurs.

According to sources, mercenaries from the Wagner Group have been in Ukraine since January and are tracking Zelenskyy and his colleagues via their cell phones.

On March 1, a Chechen hit team attempted to assassinate Zelenskyy but was unsuccessful due to the FSB’s reporting of their whereabouts.

Earlier this week, a story in The New Voice of Ukraine described Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, as stating that Russian sources gave information to Kyiv to aid authorities in locating the would-be assassins.

Civilians were informed that if they were discovered outdoors during curfew hours, they could be “liquidated,” as they would be thought to be the enemy.
