Report from Washington: More than 300 marches in the US in defense of legal abortion

Thousands of protesters joined their voices in the city of Los Angeles to protest against the possible annulment of the right to abortion in the US. Some of those present indicated repealing Roe vs. Wade could be the start of more bans.

On May 2, 2022, the news outlet Politico obtained a draft of a majority opinion written by Judge Samuel Alito, which indicated that the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade.

The case affirmed the legality of a woman’s right to an abortion under the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, in 1973.

Since this information was leaked, demonstrations have taken place across the United States. These are some of the various rallies on May 14.
