A Russian fighting team tasked with assassinating Ukraine’s President has been eliminated, according to reports. Today, it was alleged that the team assigned to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had been defeated.

The head of the National Security and Defense Council claims to have killed a team of elite Chechen commandos sent to assassinate President Zelensky.

Ukraine was alerted by members of Russia’s FSB, according to Oleksiy Danilov, the head of the National Security and Defense Council. It comes as Ukraine’s parliament reports that the country’s television tower in the capital Kyiv has been struck.

The parliament shared a snapshot of smoke clouds surrounding the tower. Numerous explosions were reported by local media. Additionally, Ukrainian television outlets were said to have ceased airing shortly afterwards.

Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned that the column of “strong Russian armor” approaching Kyiv would result in “more death, pain, and civilian casualties.”

“That is why we must continue to help Ukraine, why we must continue to call on Russia to end this horrible war,” he said at the Tapa military base in Estonia.

Mr Stoltenberg continued by describing the situation as “horrifying” and “a flagrant breach of international law.”
