The first sod for investment in bioeconomy in Örnsköldsvik

The Bioeconomy Arena is a national gathering of forces for the industrialization and commercialization of the bioeconomy’s breakthrough technologies, goods, and services. The pilot hall, which is planned to be finished by the end of 2023, is a component of the Bioeconomy Arena.

RISE is an infrastructure for the creation, scaling up, and commercialization of novel bio-based goods and solutions. This infrastructure is comprised of the new pilot hall in Ornskoldsvik as well as our test beds located around Sweden. RISE was awarded an additional 350 million Swedish Krona (SEK) by the Swedish government as part of the fall budget for the year 2020. This money will be used to construct and update test beds for biorefineries located around the country. The Ornskoldsvik test beds are an integral part of the Bioeconomy Arena, which serves as the enterprise’s nerve center.

In this space, innovators, entrepreneurs, and marketers, as well as researchers, may collaborate on novel bio-based goods and solutions to bring them to market. When it comes to technologies, processes, and products that are still in the early stages of development, Sweden has a strong position.
