car wash burglary
A second burglary suspect in a car wash in Maryville, Tennessee, in December 2022 has been apprehended. In the case of Pure Magic Car Wash, located at 1708 W. Broadway Ave., a 30-year-old man from Kentucky named Jacob Wayne Crutcher is accused of breaking in and stealing more than $2,900 in cash.
On February 5 at 5:20 p.m., deputies from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office served Crutcher with warrants charging him with three charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft, and vandalism. After posting $150,000 bond, he will appear in Blount County General Sessions Court on February 14 at 9 a.m.
Upon arriving at the car wash on December 4 in response to a burglary call, Maryville police discovered the garage door had been broken into. The lock on the office door had been slashed, and the intruders had rifled through the space, making off with a $500 safe and $2,939 in cash. A beige SUV was described to police by witnesses as the vehicle used by two males who had just left the building.
Warrants were issued for both Crutcher and Freddie Gene Tucker, 30, also of Kentucky, when police matched their descriptions of the males in the SUV. After the arrest of Tucker on January 14th, Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp stated that he believed another suspect would be taken into custody soon.
