Presidential Valerie Pecresse tested positive for Covid 19 scaled
In the midst of the battle for the first round of the presidential election, the setback is bad. Valérie Pécresse announced that she tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, March 24, just four days before the start of the official campaign which should lead to the first round of voting on Sunday, April 10.
The Republican candidate communicated the news via her Twitter account, specifying that she would continue her campaign “from a distance”.
“Tested positive for Covid, I am continuing the campaign at a distance and in compliance with health rules.
All our meetings are maintained thanks to the mobilization of the team,” she said.
Valérie Pécresse, who tested positive on Thursday afternoon, was to go to Bordeaux on Friday but “the meeting will be hosted by someone else”, it was said in her entourage, without giving more details. His Saturday trip to the Bouches-du-Rhône “is cancelled”, we added.
The candidate LR had presented Thursday morning a draft reform of the Constitution to “restore order”. She had participated Wednesday evening in a television program with Marion Maréchal, Fabien Roussel and Adrien Quatennens. The day before, Tuesday, March 22, she had taken part in a heated debate against Eric Zemmour, organized by Valeurs Actuelles.
