The 34-year-old Messi, who joined the team from Barcelona in the close season, is still healing from “knee and hamstring issues,” according to the club. He also sat out the 2-2 Champions League match against RB Leipzig in midweek.

“Tomorrow he won’t be available to play for the team. We will see if he can travel to play for his country. We hope he can go and play for his country and then return to us fit,” Pochettino told media.

Argentina visits Uruguay on November 12 and hosting Brazil four days later. Argentina is six points behind Brazil in second place.

Messi has had a disappointing start to his time in Paris, appearing in just eight games in all competitions.

PSG leads the league table with 31 points after 12 games, eight points front of Nice in second place.
