Petrol costs Rs 96.72 per liter in Delhi, while diesel costs Rs 89.62 per liter.

According to a price notification from fuel retailers, gasoline and diesel prices have been stable for more than three weeks. Since the government announced an excise duty drop of Rs 8 per liter on petrol and Rs 6 per liter on diesel on May 21, fuel prices have stayed steady.

The price of petrol in Delhi has been reduced by Rs 9.5 per liter, while diesel has been reduced by Rs 7 per liter. Petrol in Delhi currently costs Rs 96.72 a liter, down from Rs 105.41 previously, while diesel costs Rs 89.62, down from Rs 96.67.

In Mumbai, a liter of petrol costs Rs 111.35, and a liter of diesel costs Rs 97.28.

Petrol and diesel cost Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 per liter in Chennai, respectively. Petrol costs Rs 106.03 and diesel costs Rs 92.76 per liter in Kolkata.

Despite facing a loss of Rs 13.08 per liter on petrol and Rs 24.09 on diesel, oil marketing corporations are passing on the excise duty drop to consumers. India imports 80 percent of its oil requirements.

CNG users in Mumbai will soon have the fuel delivered to their homes, thanks to energy distribution company The Fuel Delivery signing a ‘letter of intent with Mahanagar Gas Limited to establish mobile CNG stations throughout the city. The Fuel Delivery said in a statement that the 24-hour service will cater to all CNG-powered auto-rickshaws, cabs, private and commercial cars, school buses, and other vehicles that use CNG.

Lanka receives 3,500 mt of gas; a new Indian credit line will assist in purchasing gasoline for the next four months.

Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said on Tuesday that a fresh Credit Line offered by India will sustain the cash-strapped island nation’s fuel purchases for another four months beginning in July, even as a 3,500 mt LPG shipment arrived, according to PTI.

The gas from this shipment will be sent to facilities that obtain inventories in bulk, such as hospitals, hotels, and crematoriums, according to the News First website.
