Patricia Bullrich anticipated what she will do on the first day if she is elected president

When there is more than a year left to define who will be the next president of Argentina, the head of Pro, Patricia Bullrich, has already anticipated the measures will be that she will take on the first day, in the event that she is chosen to take charge of the Executive. Although she has not yet confirmed her candidacy, the former Minister of Security of the macrismo is emerging as one of the presidential candidates of Together for Change.

“If I have to be president, I am going to deploy all the measures on the first day, I am going to have everything ready, all the laws prepared so that all the changes in terms of regulations on tax issues, labor issues, fiscal issues, taxes are noticed, ” Bullrich raised in an interview with El Diario de España.

And he contrasted that position with the moderation that was awarded to the administration of Mauricio Macri. “Not like in our government, in which we were showing things separately. No. We are going to make a total deployment. So I hope to earn their trust as soon as possible,” he assured.

He also said that the worst thing about the management that he integrated between 2015 and 2019 was “having separated a lot from his ideas and having had a marketing team that greatly limited him .” And even he spoke about his role in that Executive: “I was quite isolated. With that team, especially with Marcos [Peña, the former chief of staff], I always had strong debates”.

Looking ahead to next year, Bullrich preferred to be cautious about the opposition’s performance at the polls, saying that “until the votes are counted, nothing is won.” In that sense, she asked not to give the election as a victory before time and expressed: “Whoever has more personality, has more possibilities.”

Convinced that Cristina Kirchner will be “the first condemned president,” Bullrich said that Alberto Fernández “ends up being a kite in Argentine history” and commented on the president: “No one is going to remember our president and when they remember, They’re going to grab their heads.”

After affirming that it is located in a “republicanism with liberal ideas” , the head of Pro also referred to its political turns. “When I was young I was quite rebellious towards party structures until I was in Peronism in the city of Buenos Aires, but there was a lot of bad smell and I left, I put together my own party. And then to Pro,” she recounted.

He also asserted that he is in favor of a “dual monetarism” where it is possible to transact with dollars or pesos, according to what the person wants, and considered that the only way to end inflation is if it is also possible to end the deficit.

“I was talking to Tom Sargent, a Nobel laureate specialist in inflation. And he told me that there are two examples of antithetical political personalities who ended inflation. One is Margaret Thatcher, who received deficits, and problems with coal mines. Thatcher privatized, there are conflicts and stability arrived that lasts until today. The other example is [Vladimir] Lenin, who after the revolution started to have very high inflation and ends up with deficits on the basis of a state economy. There is only one way to lower inflation, lower the deficit,” insisted Bullrich.
