Conflicts between the government and the CGT: will Alberto Fernández speak on Friday?

In the last few hours, particularly in the last few minutes, no one knows for sure if the CGT event will take place to honor Juan Domingo Perón with the presence of President Alberto Fernández as the star guest.

In mid-afternoon, media outlets said that the event had been suspended as a result of anger raised in the workers’ union where protocol issues were mixed, such as the statement that the Presidency had organized the event without notifying the union leadership, but with the background of the discomfort over the economic policies emanating from Martín Guzmán, whom the confederates had been supporting.

However, a Télam dispatch issued towards the end of the afternoon maintains the call, while government sources assure that the act is still in force.

From near Héctor Daer, the silence until now has been sepulchral. Before the consultations of this newspaper, the answer was “nothing”, according to a laconic expression of an acquaintance.

The cable from the official state agency has no doubts: ” The President will lead an act on Friday at the CGT headquarters, at Azopardo 802 in the city of Buenos Aires, organized by the leadership of the trade union center and with invitations to the leadership of the PJ -of which Fernández is president-, governors, mayors, and social organizations, among other actors of Peronism”.

What El Cronista was able to learn is that, at today’s small table meeting at UPCN, the trade unionists decided that the act was not going to take place, but that after learning of the decision, the Casa Rosada had initiated steps in which the possibility of a DNU for more funds for social works was put on the table for Thursday.

“At the moment it is not known if it is done or not”, they slipped close to José Luis “Mister Cloro” Lingeri and the constructor Gerardo Martínez. The calls to save the event were led by Gustavo Beliz and Julio Vitobello.
