Charlotte Flair successfully defended her title as SmackDown Women’s Champion. Michael Cole made a cryptic allusion to Mandy Rose during her title bout against Sonya Deville.
Sonya Deville has been persistently harassing the women’s champion for a championship shot for weeks. After an extended absence, Flair just won back the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Rousey. An episode of the blue brand featured a rematch between the two stars, who had previously faced off but were soundly defeated.
Cole made a comment about Rose and Deville’s old tag team, Fire and Desire, while they were in action. According to him, the Pridefighter was beginning to show some “fire and drive” during the bout.
Sonya DeVille and Mandy Rose have been close friends for years in real life. After their bitter 2020 grudge fight on SmackDown ended, Mandy Rose would find success as NXT’s Women’s Champion.
After Absolution broke up in 2018, the two began working together as the tag team Fire and Desire. Between the years of 2018 and 2020, they collaborated on stage.
Meanwhile, Sonya Deville gave it her all but ultimately lost to Charlotte Flair, as was to be expected.
