Twice has been one of the best-selling K-pop girl groups of all time since their debut in 2015.

From their most recent distinctions at the Billboard Women in Music awards to their chart-topping album, extended play, and single releases, the trio has had a long and successful career. Twice’s highly anticipated mini album “Ready to Be” will be released on March 10th.

Twice is one of the most well-known groups to emerge from South Korea’s music scene, with over 27 million Instagram followers, 11.4 million Twitter followers, and 11 million monthly Spotify listeners. But, for some, this may be their first introduction.

Twice, who are you?

Twice is a nine-member JYP Entertainment K-pop female group. The group was created in the reality show “Sixteen” in 2015.

Composed of members Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu, the group debuted in 2015 with the song “Like OOH-AHH.” TWICE has sold over 10 million albums and received approximately 6 billion Spotify listens since their debut, making them one of the best-selling K-pop girl groups of all time.

What is the significance of the name Twice?

JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park gave them the name Twice. On the competition show “Sixteen,” Park disclosed the name of the girl group he wants to form in 2015.

He stated that the group would be called Twice because “They will have the ability to relocate individuals twice. Once in the ears, and once in the eyes.”

What do Twice fans go by?

Twice is known as “Once” in the fandom. The members gave this name to fans in 2015. They explained their rationale on Instagram, writing: “If you love us even once, we will love you back twice as much.”

Twice’s ‘Ready to Be’ will be released on March 10th.

The group’s latest mini album will be published on Friday. On January 20, the trio pre-released “Moonlight Sunrise,” which debuted at No. 84 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Twice’s second all-English single follows their 2021 release, “The Feeling.”

Twice’s fifth world tour is about to begin.

In February, the band announced their fifth world tour, which will include stops in the United States. It gets underway on April 15 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, South Korea.

Twice will become the first female K-pop group to headline in MLB and NFL stadiums in the United States with this tour.

Twice’s 2023 tour will include stops in various American cities, including:

• Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium (Saturday, June 10)
• Oakland Arena is located in Oakland, California (Tuesday, June 13)
• Seattle Tacoma Dome (Friday, June 16)
• Globe Life Park in Dallas (Wednesday, June 21)
• Houston Toyota Center (Saturday, June 24)
• Chicago’s United Center (Wednesday, June 28)
• East Rutherford, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium (Thursday, July 6)
• Atlanta Truist Park (Sunday, July 9)

Tickets for the tour are available through Ticketmaster. Fans can sign up using the Ticketmaster Verified Fan platform in order to receive an access code for the Verified Fan onsale.

Registration closes on Sunday, March 19 at 10 p.m. EST. The Verified Fan onsale will begin on March 22 at 3 p.m. local time.

Twice reaches significant milestones

In 2016, their breakthrough hit “Cheer Up” garnered numerous awards, including top places on several Korean charts as well as “Song of the Year” at the Melon Music Awards and Mnet Asian Music Awards, two of South Korea’s biggest music award programs.

TWICE has since published numerous albums, EPs, and hit songs, including “TT”, “What is Love”, “I Can’t Stop Me”, and many more. The group’s eleventh EP, “BETWEEN 1&2,” was released in August 2022. The EP peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 Album list, and its lead song “Talk That Talk” charted in the top 20 on the Billboard Global 200.

TWICE has garnered numerous prizes and accolades for their work over the years. TWICE was recently honored with the “Breakthrough Award” at the Billboard Women in Music Awards on March 1. In 2017, the group was ranked 18th on Billboard’s 21 Under 21: Music’s Next Generation issue, and was the only Asian act on the list.

They were also named “Best Female Group” at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2021. TWICE was the most-streamed female K-pop group on Spotify in 2022.
