This is what Altair and the first title in the saga look like at 8K and with ray tracing

Go back to the Holy Land, but at 8K.

Every story has an origin and that of Assassin’s Creed begins in 2007 when the first homonymous title in the saga hit the video game market.

Officially called Assassin’s Creed, it is a series of historical fiction video games, comics, books, and shorts, but what brought it to worldwide fame were the games developed and distributed by Ubisoft, including especially the award-winning first title from 2007.

Released for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, the story takes place during the Third Crusade in the Holy Land (the year 1191) and the plot revolves around a sect known as the Secret Order of Hashshashin or Assassins. While the protagonist is a modern-day man named Desmond Miles, it all has to do with Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad, a member of the order.

Through a machine called Animus, Desmond is connected to the genetic memory of his ancestors and the player can use Altaïr in his era, in which he must face the Knights Templar to get an affected called Fruit of Eden.

“The Year 1191 AD. The Third Crusade is raging in the Holy Land. You are Altair, a master assassin sent to kill nobles and corrupt lords from both sides who take advantage of the war. Carrying out your missions, you find yourself involved in a conflict that threatens not only the Holy Land, but the entire world, ”reads the synopsis of the video game.

Although Assassins Creed was released two console generations ago, the title can be played on Xbox Series X/S and even on PC, where things have changed and advanced a lot compared to the distant 2007.

This is what Assassins Creed looks like at 8K and with Ray Tracing

At the time it was released, reviews of Assassin’s Creed’s graphics and motion response were generally positive. But if we take a leap of almost 15 years and start playing on a specialized PC that allows us to run the video game at 8K and take advantage of ray tracing, the results are spectacular.

Digital Dreams, a well-known YouTube channel that often posts videos of old games but runs them on modern-day equipment, surprised fans of the series by playing Assassins Creed with unique ray tracing and in 8K.

To do this, the YouTuber prepared this content with his powerful RTX 3090 graphics card, rendering the video game at 8K, with mods, among other features that allowed him to run the 2007 game as if it were a 2022 release.

Not only are the results fascinating, but they seem so ideal that if someone at Ubisoft happens to see them, they can come up with an official remaster. We will leave the video below, but we warn you that it will make you want to start the Assassins Creed saga from the beginning.
