Margaret, you’re soon celebrating logs. Did you write that you cried thirty? What did you do when you were 40?
Yes, at thirty, I felt like it was all over. But I was terribly wrong. The most beautiful thing was waiting for me and I hope it is still waiting. The most important thing was the birth of a daughter. And then came such a valuable and important internal settlement. Just peace of mind. The joy of being a woman … Also a total prioritization. I just don’t deal with cracks. And I also try my best to give away the joy that comes back to me wonderfully. And the forties? I remember it was a beautiful spring day. The sun was shining and it was around twenty degrees! Splendor! The celebration was in a family circle and at ease. And so somehow I wish it was this year as well.
How do you celebrate your fiftieth birthday? Will it be just a family celebration, or with friends, or will you run abroad?
I really don’t experience it at all. Absolute “cajk”, as they say so nicely in Czech. So I don’t even have anything to run from. And why should I? I think being able to cope with age is probably the most important thing. Everything else actually comes from that. As you treat yourself, you also treat your surroundings. With peace of mind and sufficient insight, it is much easier and calmer. For all involved.
When you take stock of what you consider to be your greatest achievement, whether in acting or in your privacy …
I do what I enjoy. Or at least I’m trying. That’s probably the most important thing. Well, as far as my privacy is concerned … I don’t like to talk about it enough, it’s probably quite well known.
