Rosalía impresses with a vintage dress but with winks to Motomami at the Met Gala

The most mediatic event in the fashion industry has dressed the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in its best clothes. The red carpet was rolled out this Monday morning on the imposing stairs of the historic building to welcome international stars and celebrities from music, film, and art. Among them and from Catalonia, Rosalía has stood out, attending the famous event for the second consecutive year.

The Catalan singer has chosen a tailored design for the occasion: impressive and full of cultural references. It is a design signed by Givenchy in transparent white tulle and full of rhinestone appliqués.

Beyond its special mermaid cut, the jewel neck, or the careful details that it presents, the haute couture piece has been a guaranteed success for fitting perfectly with the dress code chosen by the hostess, the unconditional Anna Wintour.

The theme of the exhibition that the museum hosts this year is included in the title In America: An Anthology of Fashion. A study that reviews the evolution of this art from the 17th century to the present day and that should be represented on the red carpet through the Golden Age.

In this sense, and taking into account the imposed dress code, the artist has opted for romanticism, with a long tail full of feathers and embroidery. Her sleeves also allude to this time due to their vaporous and transparent fabric.

However, Rosalía did not want to leave her personal style behind and therefore has included very urban details in the design, with an aesthetic more typical of the 2000s, such as black glasses, a corset-style beaded body, and gloves with details that simulated skewers. A Motmoami-style Bridgerton who has passed the Wintour test on the red carpet and has also fallen in love on social networks.
