The filming of House of the Dragon, the first sequel to ” Game of Thrones, had to be stopped after a member of the products tested positive for covid-19 while filming some scenes in the United Kingdom.
According to Deadline this Monday, the positive corresponds were shifted to zone A of the production, which includes the cast of the series.
It is not the only recording stopped by the coronavirus in the United Kingdom, where the production of the second season of ” Bridgeton ” has had to be suspended twice in a week and the health situation worries television studios, as cases continue to increase in the British Isles, which have just completely reopened their economy.
House of the Dragon is inspired by the book ” Fire & Blood ” (2018), whose narration takes place some 300 years before the events narrated in the Game of Thrones series and delve into the history of the Targaryens, one of the most important houses in this epic fantasy universe.
In addition to the United Kingdom, the filming will also be located in Spain, in the province of Cáceres.
The premiere of the series is scheduled for 2022 and will start a series of fiction derived from the historical phenomenon of Game of Thrones (2011-2019), which caused a sensation around the world and holds the record for the most fiction production. award-winning Emmy (59 awards in total).
Earlier this year it emerged that HBO was beginning to shape a new prequel that would revolve around the short novel “The Tales of Dunk and Egg” by George RR Martin.
And there are three other ideas in development: “9 Voyages” (9 voyages), on the sea voyages of Corlys Velaryon; “Flea Bottom”, about the poorest neighborhood in King’s Landing, and “10,000 Ships” (10,000 ships), about Princess Nymeria.
These projects, as well as a hypothetical animated series, are in a very premature phase and not all may see the light.
