Disney thrilled fans of the saga by announcing his return to the screens, but detail in one of the characters has disappointed
If you are a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean saga, we have bad news for you. A few hours ago, Disney announced a special reboot of the story of Captain Jack Sparrow.
But if the fans thought that the actor Johnny Depp would play the character again, they are very wrong. Apparently the decline in the popularity of the Hollywood star has affected its continuity in history, which the company would have decided not to take into account in this work.
The information was confirmed by the president of live-action productions of The Walt Disney Studios, Sean Bailey in a press release.
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the executive confirmed that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool’s writers, were working on a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. In addition, he spoke about the ability of the film to succeed without Johnny Depp playing the lead role.
“We want to bring a new energy and vitality,” said Bailey. “I love movies, but part of the reason why Paul and Rhett are so interesting is that we want to come back in style, that’s what I’ve assigned them,” he said.
While Bailey did not offer any details about the new direction of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, early reports and rumors suggest that it could focus on a female main character. The signs point to Redd, the pirate newly added to the Disney parks, as Jack Sparrow’s successor.
