On their second date, Riley Keough knew she’d marry her husband: ‘We still haven’t said I love you.’

The actress and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, have been married since February 2015 and have a daughter. Riley Keough believed she and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, were a wonderful match from the start.

The Daisy Jones & the Six star, 33, opened up to host Stephen Colbert on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday about a premonition she had that she would get the starring role on the Amazon Prime Video Series, as well as another that occurred during the beginning of her relationship with Smith-Petersen, 31.

“I can’t see the future, but I know certain things will happen,” Keough explained. “So when I met my husband, on our second date, he stepped out of the gas station and I thought, ‘I’m going to marry him and have kids with him.'”

She went on to say: “I had a feeling. We hadn’t even spoken ‘I love you’.” When Colbert, 58, questioned Keough when she first told Smith-Petersen about her feelings for him, the actress replied, “It most emphatically wasn’t at the time. ‘If I tell him now, he’ll abandon me here in Australia at the gas station,’ I reasoned.”

Keough, the daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and singer Danny Keough, first met Smith-Petersen in 2012 while filming Mad Max: Fury Road. They were introduced briefly on set, but they didn’t start dating until a year later when filming re-shoots in Australia.

Keough and the Australian stuntman fell in love instantly, and the couple announced their engagement in 2014. In February 2015, the pair married less than a year later.

Smith-Petersen spoke at Presley’s memorial service earlier this year on behalf of his wife. When reading Keough’s words, he revealed that the couple had given birth to a daughter.

“I hope I can love my kid as much as you loved me, my brother, and my sisters,” Smith-Petersen added. Smith-Petersen will make a cameo in Daisy Jones & the Six’s second episode, Keough confirmed at the show’s premiere last month.

“I don’t want to spoil things, but the filmmakers thought he’d be humorous in that scenario,” Keough told Entertainment Tonight. “‘Do you want Ben to do this?’ they asked. ‘Yes, that’s hilarious,’ I thought.”

As the granddaughter of music great Elvis Presley, Keough described portraying a singer after coming from a family with a musical background as “wonderful” at the premiere.

“I mean, it was fantastic because I love music, and we had prepared for a year and a half,” she explained.

“By the time we got to the stage, it was quite thrilling, and we were all just like ecstatic to be able to test out what we’d been preparing for so long, and it was fantastic,” Keough added. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs on CBS weeknights at 11:35 p.m.
