Vikings: Michael Hirst announces a possible sequel to his series!

While the Vikings series ended a little over a year ago, it could have a sequel. At least that’s the envy of its creator, Michael Hirst. MCE TV tells you everything from A to Z!

VIKINGS: THE SPIN-OFF OF THE SERIES TAKES OVER

It was in 2013 that the Vikings series was unveiled to the world. The public then discovers the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok and the success is immediate. Indeed, with its six seasons and 89 episodes, the series is a worldwide triumph, especially when it lands on Netflix.

It is in 2021 that the Vikings end. But for the creators of the series, this is only the beginning. Indeed, a spin-off series, called Vikings: Valhalla, was born in February 2022.

Since then, the last few months have been filled with rumors regarding the next seasons of  Vikings: Valhalla. Indeed, fans are wondering both about the release date and certain elements around the series. For example, what is the meaning of the word Valhalla?

Valhalla designates a divine place that the Vikings hope to reach after their death, a kind of paradise. Only the bravest warriors can claim entry. It is therefore necessary to die with dignity in combat.

Faced with the success of this new series, Netflix has already announced that several seasons will see the light of day. Indeed, the streaming platform has ordered three seasons or 24 episodes. In an interview with EW magazine, Michael Hirst, creator of Vikings, explained that he is ”  already in preparation for season 3″. Great!

However, the creator of the series does not close the doors to a return of Vikings. At least that’s what he implied. MCE TV tells you more!

A PLANNED SEQUEL?

The world of Ragnar and his sons could well see the light of day again. In any case, this is what Michael Hirst implied at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival. At the microphone of Première, he indulged in a few confidences.

“It’s pretty great that people are still so passionate about Vikings,” he explains. “When I came to Lille for the Series Mania festival last March, I was followed in the streets by a crowd of people! This is the first time this has happened to me! I didn’t understand why: ‘I’m just the writer of the series you know…’”

He then returned to the series Vikings. “  I miss Ragnar and his sons. They are like friends. I lived with them for so long… Every morning, when I walked into my office, it was like I was going to find out what they were up to…” he announces, nostalgic.

“So it’s possible that we’ll meet again soon… I’m saying it like that… But it’s possible! I’m currently considering a project with some of the characters (from Vikings ) who would be back…” Enough to appeal to fans of the series!

As for knowing when this return would take place, Michael Hirst remains elusive. ”  We’re really at the beginning of the project, so I can’t say more… But I know how much people love these characters and would like to see them again…”, he concludes.

All these remarks agree with Michael Hirst’s desire to take his series as far as possible. All that remains is to wait for news. Case to follow!
