Netflix never tires of canceling series and has now made one official that, unfortunately, practically all of us took for granted: ‘Space Force’ will not have season 3.
It was seen coming
The news comes more than two months after the premiere of the second season. It was already clear then that one of the best comedies on the platform had a dark future, as it went very unnoticed when that abbreviated batch of episodes -the first consisted of 10, while for the second it was lowered to 7- looked like great opportunity to reconnect with the public.
The platform itself recently made it clear that it was going to give even more importance to how profitable its series was, that is, to the relationship between the investment made and the revenue obtained in return. ‘Space Force’ was not exactly cheap and with its first season, it had already left certain doubts, something that was more than confirmed in the purely commercial aspect in the second.
A pity that the series that brought together Greg Daniels and Steve Carell, two of the main architects of the success of ‘The Office’, ended up going through the back door, but there were not a few who did not finish connecting with the approach of ‘Space Force’ during its first season, and then many chose not to give the second a chance. For my part, I don’t think it’s better -in fact, I enjoyed the first one more-, but with a more friendly and accessible tone.
