Lindsay Lohan renews her contract with Netflix for two more movies

The protagonist of “Mean Girls” signed for the platform to star in her first major Hollywood project after a decade of absence

Lindsay Lohan will star in two more movies for Netflix, which has renewed its contract with the star while still slated to release the Christmas movie “Falling for Christmas” later this year.

“We are very pleased with our collaboration with Lindsay to date and are excited to continue collaborating with her,” Netflix director of independent film Christina Rogers said in a statement.

At first, the protagonist of “Mean Girls” signed for the platform to star in her first big Hollywood project after a decade of absence in which she only appeared in a couple of low-budget films.

In “Falling for Christmas” the actress will play the heiress of a luxury hotel who, after a ski accident, suffers from amnesia and spends Christmas in the cabin of an unknown family.

The plot of the other two projects that Netflix has just confirmed is unknown.

Two years ago, Lohan also returned to music with the song “Back to Me” (“I return to me”), which marked the end of a stage marked by problematic episodes in which he spent time in prison.

Since making her debut as a Disney child star at the age of 11 to star in “The Parent Trap” in 1998, Lohan has appeared in 26 movies and 12 television shows.

In 2004 came her peak with “Mean Girls”, which became a classic of teen comedy.

But soon came problems with alcohol and behind the wheel for Lohan, who in 2005, when she was still a minor, was already attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and admitting to using drugs.

Since then, the controversies and conflicts with the Justice have made the young woman a target of the pink press.

After that turbulent episode, the artist retired from the entertainment industry and spent several seasons in Dubai and other European cities, where she opened businesses such as a beach club in Mykonos (Greece).
