Matt and Ross Duffer, the brothers who created this global phenomenon called ‘ Stranger Things ‘, claims to have the rope for a while. They already have plans to continue exploring this universe until the series ends with a spin-off. A new series that they are developing in parallel to season 5.

It is not yet officially announced by the platform as they are still developing the idea (and Netflix likes to announce things when it is something more solid). A concept that Finn Wolfhard, the young actor who plays Mike, came up with, who one day came to talk to them about something that had occurred to him. It must have been so shocking or interesting that they were left with the buzz, as they say.

What it will turn on, they have not revealed, but the creators of ‘Stranger Things‘ are clear that they first want the final season to be almost finished to get down to it:

“There is a version of it running in parallel [to season 5], but they will never shoot in parallel. I think we’re going to start digging into it as soon as we’re wrapping up and finalizing those visual effects, Matt and I will start going into it.”

For his part, Matt explains:

“The reason we haven’t done anything is just because you don’t want to do it for the wrong reasons, and I was like ‘Is this something I would want to do regardless of whether it’s related to Stranger Things or not?’ And, absolutely. Even if we take the title ‘Stranger Things’ away from it, I’m really, really excited about it. But this is not… It’s going to be different than what everyone is expecting, even Netflix.”

Considering that ‘Stranger Things’ is one of Netflix’s biggest hits, it was pretty clear that they weren’t going to miss an opportunity to continue exploiting this fantastical and nostalgic world.
