The series, which had previously been canceled after three seasons on FOX, was revived by Netflix and became one of the most reliable hits in the streaming space, due to the fact that “Lucifer” has a wide audience, dedicated to tuning in all over the world. the broadcast window, even after viewing it; and not only when the content is new, like “Squid Game”, another of the great successes of the platform.
As Deadline reports, the 93 episodes of “Lucifer” generated more than 18.3 billion minutes of streaming during the year, according to Nielsen’s year-end report. That’s more than the $16.4 billion for “Squid Game”; but obviously “Squid Game” has 10% of the episodes, with only 9 on Netflix during 2021. This suggests that there are more viewers for “Squid Game”.
According to ComicBook, the report also revealed that only 15% of Squid Game’s audience was counted by American viewers of the Korean-subtitled version, while the vast majority of American viewers watched a dubbed version.
