Kelsea Ballerini
On February 14, at midnight, the singer released a surprise album featuring six new songs and a short film titled “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat (A Short Film).”
Each song on the album was written or co-written by Ballerini, who also created and directed the 20-minute film with co-director Patrick Tracy.
Her new piece provides insight into why her marriage to fellow country artist Morgan Evans ended last year.
“This is my healing journey,” Ballerini posted on Instagram. “This is my heart. Here’s my honest opinion. I’ve never been this honest, this brave, or this confident in my work. So I’m rolling out the welcome mat with love and respect. Six song tale and short video are now available. Valentine’s Day greetings.”
Ballerini will begin her tour in the United Kingdom on February 22 and will subsequently travel to Canada and the United States.
On April 2, she will also co-host the CMT Music Awards.
