Inside Job, an animated science fiction comedy series on Netflix, has been cancelled after a single season. Netflix has cancelled a number of shows in the past, but this one was unique in that a second season had already been approved.
The series marked the debut of Netflix Animation Studios’ in-house animation for adults.

Shion Takeuchi, formerly of Gravity Falls and Regular Show fame, is the inspiration behind Inside Job. In a world where conspiracies are true, the show centres on Reagan Ridley, a severely disturbed woman who works for the shadow government at Cognito Inc.
The first two sections of the show’s inaugural season premiered in October 2021 and November 2022.
Takeuchi confirmed the cancellation of Inside Job on Twitter, expressing her “heartbreak” over the decision.
Inside Job season 2 has been cancelled by Netflix, she said in an open letter.
To paraphrase, “I am heartbroken that I will not be able to watch these fictional characters mature into fully realised persons throughout the course of the series. It was only fair that Reagan and Brett get their happy ending. And I wish I could have told you all about what was coming.
Please accept my gratitude on behalf of everyone who watched. I’m sorry, but it makes me feel better to know there were other individuals who loved these characters as much as I did.
After becoming the second most watched English language drama on Netflix with 1.2 billion hours viewed in its first 28 days, the streaming service renewed the show for a second season on Wednesday.
Along with Stranger Things and Heartbreak High, Netflix said last year that Wednesday would be one of 2022’s most talked-about shows.
