Heather Rae and Tarek El Moussa Debut Baby Tristan

Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae El Moussa (The Flipping El Moussas) had their first child, a son, on January 31. After a few weeks in their own “bubble,” as Heather put it, the pair announced his name on Instagram.

“”We’d like to present Tristan Jay El Moussa to the world,” Heather wrote in the description of her Instagram image. “January 31, 2023, 6:55 a.m., 7 pounds and 7 ounces.”

The name has a meaningful connotation. Tarek was going to be named Tristan, according to Heather. “Jay is also my dad’s middle name,” Heather posted on Instagram. “Jay for four generations.”

Heather has been open about her pregnancy journey, including her IVF procedures, so it’s not unexpected that she’s also open about Tristan’s somewhat frightening delivery story.

“We were at my last doctor’s appointment when our doctor hurried us to the hospital to be monitored because Tristan’s movements had slowed. “I had gone four days past his due date,” Heather said on Instagram.

Heather began pushing after several hours of labor, but Tristan’s heart rate began to fall. “My doctor informed me that we needed to get him out as soon as possible,” Heather wrote. “I only had four more pushes to give it my best, and she was going to use a suction to help bring him out quickly or we’d have to do an emergency C-section.”

Tristan arrived safe and sound, joining El Moussa step-siblings Taylor, 12, and Brayden, 7. “It was terrifying yet beautiful, and Tarek, my fantastic doctor Lisa Karamardian, and all the nurses at Hoag were amazing,” Heather wrote.

“Life is chaotic with a new kid, but we’re loving every minute of it,” Tarek tells HGTV. “It’s really special to see Heather and the kids with Tristan, and Heather is the most amazing mother.

I still can’t believe he’s arrived! We deliberated for a long time before settling on Tristan Jay El Moussa. His initials, TEM, are the same as mine, making him a true twin. We are completely smitten with him.”
