Days before they set sail for the United Kingdom, it had been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were going to attend only official engagements and were not going to “eclipse” Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Said and done. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have kept their word and have had a much more low-key trip than expected. During these days we have only seen them twice: on Thursday they appeared briefly in the military parade (known as  Trooping the Colour)  that was held in honor of the British sovereign and, the next day, they attended the Thanksgiving Mass in the Cathedral of San Pablo along with the rest of the Royal Family.

After that… no trace. The Prince and his wife have done their best to remain inconspicuous and have barely left Frogmore Cottage, which has been his home during his brief stay in England. So that they did not have to leave there, the Duke and Duchess organized a small party on Saturday for their daughter Lilibet’s first birthday,  which was attended by some relatives, such as the three children of Zara and Mike Tindall: Mia, eight years old Lena, three, and Lucas, one, as well as Savannah, 11, and Isla, 10, daughters of Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly. According to the British press, it was a very special event in which gifts, cake, balloons, games, and different appetizers were not lacking.

Prince Charles’s son and the former actress left for the airport early Sunday before the final  Platinum Jubilee tribute to Queen Elizabeth began. According to media such as The Sun or Daily Mail, the dukes and their children were transferred by car from Frogmore Cottage to Farnborough airport, west of London, to catch a private plane that took them back to Santa Barbara (California). There, it was possible to see how some of their belongings were unloaded from the plane, such as a fairly large bundle that appeared to be a high chair. Also, Harry was photographed in the passenger seat of a black Range Rover looking rather serious .

Many thought that Harry’s return to the United Kingdom was going to be the perfect occasion to see new images of little Archie and Lilibet, but it has not been like that. Following the line of ‘low profile’ that they have maintained during their stay in the United Kingdom, they have preferred not to show their children at any time. Harry and Meghan are already back in California after living a few days that have undoubtedly been full of emotions .

It has not been easy for them to return to what was once their home, and this is how the brother of William of England confessed weeks before: he wanted to travel to his country but had not done so before because he felt that they did not have sufficient security and It could be dangerous for him and his family.  Last April, Harry acknowledged that he was not entirely sure that they were going to attend the Jubilee events, although they were finally going to be present. “I don’t know yet. There are a lot of things to consider, like security issues and everything else… but  I’m trying to make it possible for my children to meet her,” he said, referring to her grandmother.
