The 64th edition of the Grammy Awards was held this Sunday, April 3, where the best of music was recognized. The Recording Academy has decided that the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will be the place to host the long-awaited event.

“We Are”, by Jon Batiste, was crowned album of the year at the 64th Grammy Awards, held this Sunday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (USA); one of the many recognized artists in the greatest gala of music. For its part, Silk Sonic, Bruno Mars, and Anderson. Paak project, won the Grammy for Recording of the Year this Sunday with its single “Leave the Door Open”. (EFE)

BEFORE THE CEREMONY

The important ceremony had to be postponed in January due to the massive increase in cases of coronavirus infection due to the omicron variant. The event was going to take place on January 31 at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, but the organization made the decision to postpone it.

“The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remain our top priority,” he said in a statement available on his website.

They also added that they hope to ” hold Music’s Biggest Night at a future date, to be announced soon.”

Changes in the organization

Unlike previous ceremonies, this edition’s nominees were chosen by the more than 11,000 members of the Recording Academy, and not by the “secret committees” that received so much criticism in the past.
